migration of birds begins

Who:
Lee Allan Peterson, son of Roger Torry Peterson author and originator of the Petersen Field Guide series. Lee Allan is in town as part of speaking tour talking about his father and the latest version of a Field Guide to Birds of North America (first published in 1934).
Caroline Schultz, Executive Director of Ontario Nature. Ontario Nature has 140 member organizations and 25,000 members and supporters. Ontario Nature has a keen interest in protecting birds and bird habitat.

Tommy Thompson Park is a unique urban wilderness that offers many public recreational opportunities in the heart of the city. It is located on a man-made peninsula that extends five kilometres into Lake Ontario. The Toronto Harbour Commissioners began construction of the spit in the late 1950s and, since that time, it has been the site for the disposal of dredged material from the Outer Harbour and surplus fill from development sites within Toronto.
